PSV won no less than four countergoals to visit Olympiakos Piraeus, but scored twice thanks to Eran Zahavi. Football scoop gives out figures after a turbulent night in Greece.
Yvon Mvogo — 5: The Swiss did not really go wrong at any other goal, but if you get three in one half, it‘s never nice for a goalkeeper. In the second half, there was another one.
Denzel Dumfries — 5: The captain was particularly sloppy in the fitting and was also able to trump himself several times in the duels, among others by Bruma. Not the best performance of Dumfries, and that’s not the first time this season.
Jordan Teze — 6,5: Four goals, but Teze played a fairly anonymous duel. With a good procedure, he prevented a Greek goal for rest. He repeated that trick in the final phase, although it didn‘t go wrong for PSV much later.
Olivier Boscagli — 6: Boscagli played an important role in the construction. His strong pot got a bleed after 28 minutes, when the Greeks became dangerous because he was put aside. A head injury ended his duel early and he was missed.
Philipp Max — 6: Max started hesitantly, but then got into the game a little better. He gave the assist at the second hit of Zahavi and was initially more on the Greek half after the break.
Ibrahim Sangaré — 6: The Ivorian showed better than his companion on the midfield. He surprised every now and then even with a good pass between the lines. With all yellow in his pocket, Sangaré did play with fire.
Pablo Rosario — 5: The loss of his opponent in the 1-0 seemed to affect him in his confidence. Rosario played — unfortunately not for the first time — rather weak, only exceptionally alternated with a good procedure.
Mario Götze — 5,5: Götze’s return is important for PSV, but the playmaker could hardly leave his mark on the game. That is not surprising after his long absences.
Ryan Thomas — 5,5: The attacking midfielders were very little in the play anyway, because Thomas was virtually invisible too. You expect a little more from a player at that position, although the New Zealander did make a lot of dirty meters again.
Eran Zahavi — 7: Together with Rosario, he was not paying attention to the opening hit, but Zahavi immediately made up for that. His first goal was with luck, after a nice foot movement, his second hit was fine.
Donyell Malen — 5: Malen scored two more times against ADO Den Haag, but in Greece he played a colourless match. Also in this kind of duels Malen has to stand up, but the clubtop scorer recorded a snipperdag.
Timo Baumgartl — 3: What a dramatic approach. The German replaced Boscagli and immediately went into a huge mistake. Not much later it almost went wrong again, but he was released with the fright. Prior to the 4-2 he lost his duel.
Mauro Júnior — x: After 70 minutes in the field for Götze and played too short for a review.
Yorbe Vertessen — x: After 70 minutes in the field for Sangaré and played too short for a review.
Érick Gutiérrez – x: Came into the field for Zahavi after 85 minutes and played too short for a review.
Marco van Ginkel – x: Came into the field for Thomas after 85 minutes and played too short for a review.
