Podcast The Day: The Results of 25 Years of Cloning Since Dolly

The most famous sheep in the world would have become 25 years old today. Dolly, the very first cloned animal in the world, led to violent discussions from the outset. Cloning technology has been further refined over the past quarter of a century, and in addition to medical science opportunities, there are more and more commercial interests.

Biologist and philosopher Ellen ter Gast tells in podcast De Dag which doors Dolly‘s birth opened to genetic science and whatever limitations it has to cloning. Furthermore, the science fiction image of cloned people will always be expressly present on this topic, says Ter Gast, while it should be essentially about something else.
