Police raid shooting in Belgian village, armed man entrenched in home

An armed man entrenched himself in a home in Vrasene, Belgium on Friday morning, after the police invaded there last night for a search. A special police intervention unit is on site, trying to contact the man.

The police wanted to conduct a search in a home in Vrasene, district of Beveren on suspicion of drug trafficking on Thursday night. One of the inhabitants of the house fired some shots at the officers who retreated and surrounded the house.

The police special intervention unit arrived on the spot. There would have been three people in the house, but two women probably left the house by now. There is currently an attempt to contact the shooter, who is presumably alone in the house.
