Press Van den Brom increases even further after fifth duel without victory

The pressure on John van den Brom is increasing further at KRC Genk. Visiting KV Mechelen, the Dutchmans team did not win before the fifth consecutive match.
Van den Brom has been on the rocker at Genk for the last few weeks. The club from the north-east of Belgium seemed to have left a shape dip behind it, but nothing was less true. A victory at Mechelen was therefore crucial for Genk and Van den Brom.
At rest, it still looked good for the visitors: a few minutes before the break, Thรฉo Bongonda provided the liberating 0-1, but in the second half things quickly went wrong for Genk: Nikola Storm managed to score from a cross on behalf of Mechelen. Not much later, Van den Brom and his team received a welcome support. Mechelen goalkeeper Gaรซtan Coucke got red, after standing on Kristian Thorstvedt
s foot.
Despite the red card, Mechelen managed to hold up against Genk for a long time. It wasnt until the final phase that the visitors got great opportunities. However, these were no longer cashed in, so Van den Brom does not win again. Genk is now disappointingly eighth, with as many points as pursuers KAS Eupen and KV Kortrijk. The coming days will tell if the game at Mechelen was also the last for Van den Brom at Genk.
