Promotion for brother Koopmeiners: ‘The Eredivisie is the next goal’

Peer Koopmeiners broke open and renewed his contract with AZ. Captain Teun Koopmeinerss 21-year-old brother is now in the AFAS Stadium until mid-2025.
AZ also announces that Peer Koopmeiners is definitely in line with the selection of coach Pascal Jansen. “I
ve always had the dream of being of great value to this club; already at the age of eight I was in the family business with my grandfather and parents,” says the midfielder on the club site. “The more beautiful it is to sit here now. Ive gained a lot of experience in the Kitchen Champion Division. That was nice too, but now I want to make the move to the Eredivisie. Thats the next goal.”
Koopmeiners played 78 official games for Jong AZ, where he became captain and load-bearing power. Last season he came to 34 duels, in which he scored three times and gave one assist. He plays in the same position as his brother, who is in the interest of Atalanta Bergamo.
Football Director Max Huiberts has confidence in a breakthrough by Peer. “He has played a lot in Jong AZ in recent years. “I think he was very well aware that he needed those races to take the next step in his development. Now hes ready for the A selection, a nice new challenge. If hes going to take his chance? Well assume that.”
