Heracles Almelo captain Robin Pröpper had quite a few questions when he appeared in front of the ESPN microphone after the match against Ajax. The VAR approved Ajax‘ 0-1 after lengthy deliberations, but Pröpper believed that there was an offence and a violation.
The central defender spoke of a ‘somewhat dubious goal‘. Before Davy Klaassen pulled the trigger, Pröpper’s teammate Tim Breukers got the hand of Dusan Tadic in his face. “Yes… I don‘t know if you can use your arms?” , said the Heracles captain while viewing the images. “It’s been reviewed. I think it‘s a violation, but okay.”
The VAR also needed a few minutes to see if there was indeed an offside: after laying the lines they concluded in Zeist that this was not the case. “And that was clearly visible? Well, okay… “, says Pröpper, who had nothing but resigned in the 0-2 defeat. “Let’s not talk about that anymore, let‘s talk about the game. I think we failed to score and make Ajax really hard. But I do think we played an excellent game and it’s really a shame that we didn‘t make it anymore.”
Heracles captain Robin Pröpper cannot agree with the decision of the arbitration at the 0-1 of Ajax. “I think it’s a violation, but okay.” #heraja pic.twitter.com/qButeImkzy
