PSG wins effortlessly, Bailey gets in the way of City, Atlético also loses points

Manchester City failed to finish the fight with Aston Villa winning on Saturday night. Erling Haaland signed for his tenth hit in six games, but that was not enough for the victory. Atlético Madrid competed against Real Sociedad in Spain and Los Colchoneros also lost two expensive points in the duel. Paris Saint-Germain won thanks to Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Nantes – Paris Saint-Germain 0-3At Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar started on the bench, after it became clear on Friday that he had still been offered to Manchester City. The Parisians turned out not to need the Brazilian, who is in top shape for the time being this season. Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe were in fact present. After seventeen minutes, the Argentine took to the Frenchman, who shot nicely.

Nantes faced an impossible task when Fábio da Silva received a red card not much later. The left-back Vitinha worked on the midline against the plain. After 54 minutes, PSG then took further distance and again Messi was the principal and Mbappe was the finisher. The latter then gave way to Neymar, but with Nuno Mendes another substitute took care of the final chord.

Aston Villa – Manchester City 1-1Manchester City lost expensive points against Newcastle United (3-3) two weeks ago and was allowed to take on low-flyer Aston Villa on Saturday evening. The Birmingham club took just three points in the run-up to the game and lost four out of five games. City was the better team almost immediately, while Aston Villa tried to play on the counter. The Villains tactics worked out well in the first half, as City failed to find a hole in the defense. Both teams went to rest with the glasses mode.
In the second act, City quickly struck and it was, who else, Erling Haaland. The Norwegian was well served at the second post and signed for his tenth hit. For that, the striker only needed six games. After the opening goal, Aston Villa was played further in the tribulation, but surprisingly the team came alongside. Especially Ajax target Leon Bailey put his team next to City. It was a blow that City, despite more than seventy percent possession of the ball, was no longer able to overcome. The draw puts City at fourteen points and Arsenal is above The Citizens. In addition, the Londoners still have to take action on Sunday.

Real Sociedad – Atlético Madrid 1-1Atlético Madrid visited Saturday evening to finish the difficult duel with Real Sociedad. Diego Simeones team got the lead early in the game at the hands of Alvaro Morata. Sociedad was certainly not inferior to Los Colchoneros, but did go to rest with a 0-1 backlog.
However, Sociedad did not give up courage in the second act and was rewarded for it quite quickly. After ten minutes of play, it was Umar Sadiq, who once played at NAC Breda, who signed for the equaliser. Simeone made another defensive switch in the final phase and took Yannick Carrasco to the side for Mario Hermoso. In the closing second, Atlético seemed to make the winning one, but the referee did not apply the advantage rule. Due to the tie, Atlético remains in sixth place with seven points. Real Sociedad remains stuck on the same number of points. Real Madrid is the only club still clear in Spain, while Barcelona takes action against Sevilla FC later on Saturday evening.
