Maximiliano Romero is back in the Netherlands. The Argentine striker of PSV will resume his rehabilitation after the mandatory quarantine period and hopes to be able to play minutes again next season.
The 21-year-old striker suffered a severe knee injury in the Europa League away match against NS Mura (1-5) and therefore had to watch for a long time again. Romero was out before, had just returned and got opportunities from PSV trainer Roger Schmidt when fate struck. He then decided to do the first part of his rehabilitation in Argentina.
That has now happened: according to the Eindhovens Dagblad, Romero returned to Eindhoven on Friday and, after having passed his compulsory quarantine period, he continues his recovery in the Netherlands. The hope is that the Argentine will be able to stand again from the beginning of next season and ‘PSV still believes in its opportunity’.

So far Romero played in the Eredivisie for ten minutes. He scored a very important goal: in this season’s home match against FC Emmen, he won PSV with a rake headball. The sturdy attacker is still stuck in the Philips Stadium until mid-2023.
