Ramselaar: ‘Pity about the last season at PSV, no more opportunities’

Bart Ramselaar was the eye-catcher of the Eredivisie-weekend with three goals during FC Utrecht-Willem II, but definitely does not want to walk with his head in the clouds. The 25-year-old midfielder realizes that competition has increased considerably in De Galgenwaard.
Ramselaar played in all twelve games FC Utrecht completed this season, but only filled four times the ninety minutes. โ€œI have to prove myself every week. The club is ambitious, wants to compete with the top clubs and then you have to perform every matchโ€, he explains to De Cceit. โ€œThe mental aspect is very important here, because ninety percent are in your head and therefore you must always have confidence in yourself. That‘s fine with me.โ€
In this respect, Ramselaar learned from his time at PSV, where he played between 2016 and 2019. Ramselaar keeps good memories of his first two seasons, but the last year has left a bitter aftertaste. โ€œThe last season I didn’
t get any chances there at all, unfortunately. But I think I‘ve made mental steps,โ€ he looks back on the 2018/2019 season, โ€œToo bad how the last year at PSV has gone, because I did show that I had the level for the first two seasons. Now I’m tormented every game and it‘s a personal goal to prove that I’m good enough.โ€
