Real Conquers Super Cup

Real Madrid has won the first prize of the new season. The Champions League winner was clearly too strong for Eintracht Frankfurt in the battle for the European Super Cup: 2-0.
A few months ago, the Germans seized the Europa League by defeating Rangers FC. Real Madrid was clearly of a different order. Thibaut Courtois had to save after fifteen minutes when Daichi Kamada showed up for him, but then the Spanish superpower took the initiative. Vinícius was very close to 1-0 after a quick attack, but Tuta came to the rescue of his goalkeeper Kevin Trapp for the goal line.

Both teams made it a bit of a summer night game, but Real remained the better and after 37 minutes David Alaba opened the score. The Austrian got the ball in front of his feet after a corner kick and was able to finish easily. After a nice pass by Toni Kroos, Benzema shot aside, saving Frankfurt further damage before the break.

In the second half, Mario Götze, among others, entered the field near Frankfurt. On behalf of Real, however, Casemiro was the closest to a goal. The Brazilian shot hard at the bar. In the end, Karim Benzema threw the game into the end. The French super striker shot at Vinícius‘s instructions in one go. Frankfurt tried, but couldn’t embarrass Real.
As a result, Real Madrid is seizing the European Super Cup for the fifth time in club history. The Royal is now a record holder together with FC Barcelona and AC Milan. There was also a milestone for Benzema. He scored his 324th official goal for Real, passing Raúl on the eternal top scorer list and only having to tolerate Cristiano Ronaldo (450) ahead of him.
