Redundant Luckassen leaves PSV permanently behind and signs in Israel

Derrick Luckassen is definitely no longer a PSV player. The defender, who has been loaned each time in recent years, has signed a two-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The departure of the 27-year-old left leg had been in the air for quite some time. In 2017, Luckassen made the switch from AZ to Eindhoven. Here, however, he never really managed to deliver on his promise. In total, he played only 25 games for PSV. After lending to Hertha BSC, Anderlecht and Kasimpasa respectively, Luckassen landed on De Herdgang again this summer.
Here it quickly became clear that the new trainer Ruud van Nistelrooy did not see any future music in him either. The people of Eindhoven also decided to participate in a departure. The Israelis decided to strike and bought off Luckassen‘s one-year contract. In Tel Aviv, he meets former PSV’er Eran Zahavi. Joris van Overeem, former player of AZ and FC Utrecht, among others, is also under contract there.
