Release biopic Elvis Presley postponed until 2022

The film about the life of Elvis Presley, directed by Baz Luhrmann, has moved the release date of the biopic from November 2021 to June 2022, which is currently in progress in Australia and was postponed earlier this year because of the coronavirus. This reports Deadline.

The film, which does not yet have an official title, highlights the eventful life of the legendary singer, played by Austin Butler. The complicated relationship Elvis had with his, originally Dutch manager Dries van Kuijk is central. Van Kuijk, better known as Colonel Tom Parker, is performed by Tom Hanks. Presley and Parker worked together for years: from Elvis rise as a world star until his death in 1977

Hanks was one of the first celebrities to get the coronavirus in March, as well as his wife Rita Wilson. The couple were admitted to an Australian hospital and spent weeks in quarantine. As a result, the filming of the film was stopped at the time.
