Max Verstappen finished sixth at the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. In an eventful race, the 23-year-old driver had a bad start and he also spun twice with his Red Bull. With this, his chances of a podium spot were ultimately lost. Lewis Hamilton won the race, capturing his seventh world title in style.
Our reporter Erik van Haren was in Instanbul on the spot and took care of the most important updates during the Turkey Grand Prix. Relive the race below.
Verstappen was almost the fastest throughout the weekend in Istanbul: all the free workouts, Q1 and Q2, until Lance Stroll threw soot into his food in the main, Q3, and chewed off his pole position. This also happened to the Dutchman of Red Bull in Mexico 2018, when Daniel Ricciardo did this to him. In the end, Verstappen managed to win the race. At the Turkish Grand Prix, however, things were different for the Red Bull driver on race day.
