“ At the beginning of my career I mainly followed and admired Dutch football,” says Flick in a conversation with France Football. “The first one who inspired me was Foppe de Haan”, the coach has praise for the trainer who became European Champion with Jong Orange in both 2006 and 2007.
“Foppe was an isnpirator for me, just like Louis van Gaal and Johan Cruijff of course. But Ive also followed Arsenal Wenger a lot. I have always enjoyed his philosophy, but also the way he dealt with his younger colleagues. He was full of humility, but the game he played with players such as Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Patrick Vieira was sensational.
Flick is currently five points ahead with Bayern as the lead runner RB Leipzig. in the eighth finals of the Champions League, the team is waiting for the first part of the diptych next week with Lazio.
