Ridley Scott to tackle ‘Gladiator’ sequel after Napoleon movie

Director Ridley Scott has confirmed that he will pursue a sequel to Gladiator after the film dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte. Scott will premiere two films this year, โ€œThe Last Duelโ€ and โ€œThe House of Gucciโ€, while the director is in the process of producing a biopic about Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix in the title role. However, the author already knows that he will return to the Gladiator story in the wake โ€” according to Scott, they are currently creating a script of the tape.

The original painting starring Russell Crowe and the same Phoenix was released in 2000, and the story was about Roman military leader Maximus. Earlier, it was reported that the sequel will take place a couple of decades after the first film, and the story tells about Lucius, the nephew of Commodus, the last in original played by phoenix.
