RIVM reports 2914 coronavirus infections and 6 deaths

The number of people infected with the coronavirus increased by 2914 between Sunday morning and Monday morning, as far as known. That is less than in the 24 hours to Sunday morning, when 2995 cases were reported. This is evidenced by figures from the National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM). Over the past seven days, about 18,500 people have been tested positively for the virus.

The RIVM recorded six deaths in the last 24 hours. The Institute now has 6380 people who died of Covid-19, and the number of people hospitalized with the virus increased by 38. That‘s a more than Sunday morning was announced and the highest number of recordings since mid-May. This does not mean that these people died or recorded in the last 24 hours, because such data are sometimes processed a little later.

In the Rotterdam-Rijnmond region, the number of registered infections increased most, by 432, of which 272 cases were detected in Rotterdam. In the Haaglanden region, the number of registered infections increased by 357 and 284 in Amsterdam-Amstelland. 240 people were tested positive in the province of Utrecht. That’s the biggest increase since the beginning of the pandemic.

Together, since the outbreak in March, 114,540 people have tested positive for the virus and 12,664 people have been hospitalized.
