RKC Waalwijk captain Anas Tahiri will be able to pick up transfer-free after this season: the midfielder from Brussels has decided not to renew his expiration contract. Tahiri now wants to keep RKC in the Eredivisie and hopes for a nice step up.
The technician came over from Lierse SK in 2018, got his PhD to the Eredivisie in his first season and is now on the eve of his latest achievements in Waalwijk service. “I had a good conversation with the club,” says Tahiri in conversation with ESPN, after the match against Ajax. “I want to take a step. Especially now, in these coronatijds, it‘s always easier if you’re transfer-free.”
Before the time comes, he has five more games to keep RKC above the demotion line. “I don‘t want to leave here with a degradation,” he promises. “I want to leave this beautiful club well, give back everything they’ve given me.”
