RKC surprises: Pelle Clement does not sign in Arnhem, but in Waalwijk

RKC Waalwijk has surprisingly strengthened itself with Pelle Clement. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder signed a one-season contract at Mandemakers Stadium on Friday.
Clement was transfer-free after leaving PEC Zwolle, which he was unable to save from relegation last season. So he himself is retained for the Eredivisie. Although Ajaxs youth product was linked to Vitesse and HJK Helsinki, among others, he opts for RKC.
โ€œWith Pelle, we add an attacking midfielder and thereby strengthening the balance in our selection. We are happy that Pelle has chosen us and look forward to a successful collaborationโ€, responds general manager Frank van Mosselveld of the Waalwijkers, who, by the way, are not yet able to have their acquisition in the home game against FC Utrecht on Saturday.
Clement went through the youth school of Ajax, but it did not come from a breakthrough. In 2017, he left for Reading, where Jaap Stam was manager at that time. Two years later, PEC Zwolle picked him up.
