Arjen Robben has scored for his old love for the first time since he returned to FC Groningen. The 36-year-old striker found the goal in the practice match against Arminia Bielefeld.
It was his first goal for Groningen since 28 April 2002. At that time De Graafschap was the opponent.
That same year Robben exchanged the northern club for PSV. After adventures at Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, where he was under contract for no less than ten seasons, the outdoor player quit professional football last year. This summer it started to tickle again and FC Groningen managed to catch him.

Against Bielefeld, Robben got the ball in the 17th minute after a cross from the left in front of his left foot. From the edge of the penalty kick, the 96-fold international, who finished his last game for the Dutch Team in October 2017, found the corner with a slider.
The game against Bielefeld, which ended 1-1, was the last practice game before the start of the competition. Robben and his teammates will be visiting PSV next Sunday.
