Ronald de Boer explained the statements of his brother Frank, who, after the announcement of the final Orange selection, indicated that Donny van de Beek was in the “top seven of top six” of players with the most minutes this season.
Soon it became known that this was not right. Van de Beek sits most games on the bench of Manchester United and occasionally enters the lines as a substitute. “It‘s not like he didn’t make many minutes,” De Boer said. “He made something of 4,000 minutes.”
Ronald knows where his brother went wrong. “He looked in the wrong column. Davy Klaassen and Donny van de Beek were standing next to each other. That‘s not right for a meter of course,” says Ronald at ESPN. Those more than 4,000 minutes were made this season by Klaassen, while Van de Beek made about 1,400 minutes at United.
De Boer’s decision to take Van de Beek to the European Championships and to leave Steven Bergwijn at home, for example, caused a lot of people to blow up their lives.
