Ronald Koeman: ‘Things can still happen’

Ronald Koeman saw that FC Barcelona was less successful against Seville on Sunday night than during the first two competition duels under his leadership. Seville held fairly easily at Camp Nou: 1-1.

โ€œWe were less energetic than in the first two games, but that‘s also because of the opponents. They defended well and were physically stronger than us,โ€ Koeman said. โ€œIt was a very intensive week for us. We had to work hard in Vigo with one less player and today we lacked freshness, eagerness and sharpness in the attack.โ€

Already after ten minutes it stood 1-1, after which many great chances were not. After an hour, Koeman decided to switch offensive. He brought the Portuguese Francisco Trincรฃo (20) and Pedri (17) within the lines. Koeman could also have opted for the introduction of Ousmane Dembรฉlรฉ, but he decided to keep the Frenchman on the bench.

โ€œ Things can still happen. Right now he’s a player of FC Barcelona, but we‘ll see it. But there are still players to go in and out,โ€ Koeman said about the attacker who prefers to lose FC Barcelona before the transfer deadline.

FC Barcelona won’t be back in action until two weeks. Then Getafe is the opponent. โ€œWe have had three difficult matches; we have won two and we have a tie, so I am satisfied,โ€ says the trainer. โ€œOur opponents were tough, but we can be happy with seven points.โ€
