Room: expand test times at Schiphol

Travellers from ‘risk areas’ can have themselves tested at Schiphol, but a majority of the House of Representatives believes that there is far too little capacity. Now the test street can only handle about 20 percent of the passengers.

Opening hours (from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) are also a thorn in the side of the majority. Members of parliament from the opposition parties GroenLinks, SP, GroenLinks, PvdA, Party for the Animals, SGP, Denk, 50Plus and the Van Kooten-Arissen group and the government parties D66, CDA and ChristenUnie are urging the cabinet to expand.

The parties ask the cabinet why there is no scaling up, now that ‘code orange’ applies to the whole of Spain and parts of France. GroenLinks-Kamerlid Krรถger and the other questioners think that the test street at Schiphol should be open as long as flights from orange areas arrive.

“The virus doesn’t keep up with office hours”, Krรถger stresses.
