Russian tennis players Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Roeblev have reached the fourth round of the US Open with a great display of power.
Medvedev, the number three on the placings list and last year‘s losing finalist, put 21-year-old American rising star J.J. Wolf aside 6-3, 6-3, 6-2.
Wolf has only been a full-fledged professional player since last year and already ranks 138th in the world rankings. Not only because of his smooth playing style he stands out, also with his so-called ‘mullet hairstyle’ the American attracts a lot of attention. Just like Andre Agassi in his best days.
Medvedev didn’t lose a set in New York and with 32 winners he was far too strong for Wolf, who was too forced to make the game and made 41 unnecessary mistakes.
Roeblev loses only four games
Just like Medvedev, his 22-year old compatriot Roeblev is someone to take into account at the US Open. He reached the last sixteen in New York very convincingly by humiliating Italian Salvatore Caruso 6-0, 6-4, 6-0.
Roeblev, the number ten on the placing list, didn’t lose a set in New York either. Moreover, this year he is well on track with titles in Doha and Adelaide, quarter finals in Rotterdam and Dubai and a fourth round at the Australian Open.
