Sambo deal option declared: ‘PSV can say ‘no’ to transfer’

The option to buy that Sparta stipulated in the rent deal for Shurandy Sambo aroused the necessary surprise, but the fork is slightly different. According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV can always say no to a transfer.
Sambo is still stuck with PSV until mid-2024, but he is currently not eligible for a place in the selection of trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij. Phillipp Mwene and Ki-Jana Hoever are preferred there. The twenty-year-old full-back is therefore allowed to make flying hours at Sparta, which surprisingly also mentioned an option to buy.
According to the ED, it is expected that the Rotterdammers will not have to pay more than half a million euros if they want to take over Sambo permanently. However, PSV is in control, because the people of Eindhoven can still say ‘no’ to a transfer. This is a ‘conditional option’. PSV can still decide to bring Sambo back if he has a strong season at Sparta.
