Schalke wins four old Eredivision-acquaintances: goal and two assists for Ouwejan

After months of disaster, Schalke 04 finally got to play for a full Veltins-Arena on Saturday night and made it a party night. Thomas Ouwejan was the absolute eye-catcher at Die Kรถnigsblauwen with one hit and two assists against Dynamo Dresden.
Schalke had booked five victories in his last six Second Bundesliga duels and was soon on track on Saturday night. Ouwejan made the opening goal after twenty minutes with some fortune. Opponent Robin Becker wanted to get rid of, but the ball carambred through the AZ mercenary behind goalkeeper Kevin Broll: 1-0.
That stand was still on the signs twelve minutes before time, but Schalke finally distanced himself in the final phase. Ouwejan provided his fifth and sixth assist of the season with a corner kick and a free kick: Marius Bรผlter and Marcin Kaminski headlined the 2-0 and 3-0 for the fallen powerhouse.
Schalke โ€” with Martin Fraisl (ADO The Hague), Ko Itakura (FC Groningen) and Victor Pรกlsson has a handful of old Eredivision-acquaintances โ€” is now on course to return to the Bundesliga after one year. The team of Dimitrios Grammozis has 22 points after eleven games: as much as frontrunner Sankt Pauli, which has one more match.
