Schools reopen after flooding in Belgium: ‘You can still see the traces’

The

summer holidays are over for more and more children in Belgium too. But thats not easy everywhere. In the area where floods were flooded this summer, some schools have been damaged.

Water-to-ceiling

Thomas school is not ready for the new school year either. The water was up to the ceiling for days in some places. When it dropped, Thomas helped clean.

Thomass house is a little further away from the river and has no damage. But some children in his school are less lucky. Theres so much damage to their house that they cant live there for the time being.

Like many houses, some schools in the area need to be rebuilt. Luckily for Thomas and Ezer, that doesnt have to happen at their school. After a lot of cleaning work, they can get lessons again.
