After the won open match between Ajax against SV Meppen (3-0), Alfred Schreuder gave a summary transfer update to Ziggo Sport. At the moment, according to him, no players are about to leave.
It‘s no secret that many Ajax players, including Antony, Lisandro Martínez and Nicolás Tagliafico, are in the process of a transfer, but Schreuder hasn’t officially heard anything yet. “I don‘t find it difficult, but a challenge”, says the trainer about the many rumors around Ajax.
“It’s important to feel like you‘re all going in the right direction, but I don’t know the great thing about it either. If you did know, I wouldn‘t say it either. Why should I? Of course, there is something going on, but at the moment it is not really concrete. That’s the truth.”
On the incoming side, Ajax is still working on Steven Bergwijn, among others. “That is not complete at all,” emphasizes Schreuder, who claims to be ‘quietly waiting’. “I‘m focusing on the players I do have. Which I don’t have, I can‘t do anything with that right now.”
