Schreuder: ‘It makes sense that PSV is more involved in the transfer market than Ajax’

Alfred Schreuder does not look at the transfer developments in Eindhoven with jealousy. Ajax did not win a single player yet, while PSV already asserted itself quite a lot in the market. Schreuder says Ajax is ‘ready if something needs to happen’.
In an interview with the club channels, Schreuder is pointed out that PSV was already asserting itself more in the transfer market than Ajax. โ€œIt makes sense that PSV is stirring in the transfer market, they are going to play qualifying matches for the Champions Leagueโ€, the coach of the Amsterdammers counters. โ€œThey also need to be done earlier. We‘re just looking at ourselves calmly, so that’s good. I think we‘re ready if something needs to be done. Right now, we know what we’re doingโ€
Ajax organized a training camp in De Lutte until Sunday. Gerry Hamstra and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar were also present, which gave Schreuder the opportunity to talk a lot with the technical management. โ€œThe conversations with Hamstra and Huntelaar went well. They are here almost every day, which is nice and pleasant. We can calmly tune things about things that are running. In that respect, we are calm.โ€
PSV has already strengthened this transfer period with Walter Benรญtez, Ki-Jana Hoever, Xavi Simons and Luuk de Jong, while Savinho and Guus Til are also on their way to the Philips Stadium. So Ajax is still waiting for its first purchase. The national champion is busy with the arrival of Steven Bergwijn, Brian Brobbey and Owen Wijndal.
