‘Serious Barcelona Problems: All Purchases Risk Missing Season Opener’

FC Barcelona is in serious trouble in the run-up to the season opener against Rayo Vallecano. The Catalans have not yet provided documents to register their purchases for the competition, while time is running out.
That‘s what Marca, Spain’s largest sports newspaper, writes on Thursday. Barcelona could currently register a number of acquisitions, but not every new player. To do that, Barcelona has to reduce salaries or say goodbye to a number of players.
In less than 48 hours, Barcelona will be playing its first La Liga game, but the club has not registered a single newcomer yet. In the unlikely event that the Spanish superpower does, then there is still a good chance that all acquisitions are not entitled to play against Rayo. The LaLiga board needs time to review and approve the registrations.
This threatens a doomsday scenario for Barcelona, which already spent 153 million euros on five new players this summer. In addition, Marcos Alonso is also well on his way to Camp Nou, but the left back is still in the waiting room throughout the registration story.
