Simons signs with PSV until 2027: ‘A very good feeling left of’

After the discussions with technical director John de Jong and head coach Ruud van Nistelrooij, Xavi Simons wanted nothing more than to leave for PSV. The club surprised late Tuesday night by attracting the midfielder, who signed until 2027. For months, PSV has been working silently on the deal.
Simons has had several conversations with Van Nistelrooij and De Jong. โ€œThat left me with a very good feeling,โ€ he says on the PSV club site. โ€œOf course, PSV is a big club. The ambition that the leadership expressed has made me even more enthusiastic. I spoke to the trainer at an early stage and he told me a lot about the project that started the club. I know how he wants to play and how he sees my role in it. I‘m at a point in my career where I have to make minutes. You can do that here. I’m ready and I want to prove myself.โ€
It was planned that PSV would rent Simons from Paris Saint-Germain. The French club was in talks with him about contract renewal, but that deal reportedly ricocheted off at the last minute. As a result, PSV was able to capture Simons for several years.
