David Alaba confirmed in mid-February that he was leaving Bayern Munich and appears to be under the pans two months later. According to the German branch of Sky Sports, the Austrian leftover is going to commit to Real Madrid for five years.
Alaba will soon be out of his contract in Munich and has recently been linked to almost all top clubs in Europe. However, the Real Madrid and FC Barcelona rumors were the most persistent. The transfer soap is now approaching its conclusion: Alaba has chosen De Koninklijke over the eternal rival from Catalonia and will soon sign in Madrid until 2026.
Real Madrid is already getting fresh blood with Alaba for his well-groomed defense: pieces of furniture such as Sergio Ramos, Raphaël Varane and Marcelo may leave this summer. In turn, the Austrian will also close a lengthy chapter in his career: Alaba made his debut with Bayern in 2010, temporarily transferred to Hoffenheim and now stands on 427 (!) official performances on behalf of Der Rekord meister. With his Real Madrid transfer, the left leg probably makes one last big hit: when his contract expires in the summer of 2026, he has just celebrated his 34th birthday.
