Slot wants to deal with moderate Europa League statistics: ‘Is a different resistance’

Feyenoord will play FC Midtjylland in Denmark on Thursday. The Rotterdammers last won an away game in the Europa League in 2014. Trainer Arne Slot hopes to put an end to this series after Thursday evening.
Feyenoord starts against Midtjylland as the leader of group F. Despite that, meeting Denmark‘s current number 7 will not be an easy task, says Slot. After all, the Rotterdammers have not won an away game in a Europa League for a long time. “For the last time in 2014, I was told. That does indicate how difficult it is to win an away game at this level,” says Slot in conversation with RTV Rijnmond.
Last weekend, the Rotterdammers also lost points against NEC (1-1) in the Eredivisie. The practice master finds the reason for the difference in out and home games in the resistance that the opponents put on the mat. “An away game is a lot harder anyway. Especially when you wear a Feyenoord shirt. Twice a year, the stadium of a club like NEC or SC Cambuur is sold out. One of those two times, Feyenoord comes by. That’
s a different resistance than in the Kuip.”
The match against Midtjylland, which, like the Rotterdammers and all other teams in Group G, has three points, starts on Thursday at 9 p.m. Lutsharel Geertruida is fit enough to start in the basics again, Slot said.
