A blizzard has caused almost a record level of snowfall in Moscow. The record of 60 centimeters of snow, measured in 1956, can be broken in the coming days, is expected by the weather service Fobos.
The blizzard in the Russian capital certainly demanded a lifetime. The body was recovered from a warehouse collapsed by the snow, reports Interfax news agency. Shortly before that, two more people were saved there.
Until Saturday morning fell 56 centimeters of snow. That hasn‘t happened for almost eight years. Winter services have already taken over 1 million cubic metres of snow off the streets in recent days. The intention is to deploy 12,000 additional employees.
More than 130 flights from Moscow’s three main airports were delayed and more than 20 other flights were cancelled.
