Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, has tested positive for Covid-19, he announced on Twitter on Friday. He is the third Covid-19 infected member of the Brazilian delegation at the UN General Assembly in New York.
On Twitter, the 37-year-old parliamentarian questioned the effectiveness of vaccines. “We know that the vaccines have developed faster than usual,” Bolsonaro junior wrote. “I got the first dose of Pfizers vaccine and got Covid anyway.”
Another member of the Brazilian delegation to the UN, Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, announced Tuesday that they had become infected with the virus. On Monday, a young diplomat from the same delegation had preceded him. Both were vaccinated against Covid-19
Father Jair Bolsonaro has not been vaccinated against Covid-19 and has been seen without a mask several times during his stay in New York due to the UN General Assembly. Since Wednesday, he has been back in Brazil, where he is in quarantine at the presidential residence in Brasilia because he has been in contact with Minister Queiroga. He is undergoing a new PCR test this weekend. In case of a negative rash, he can resume normal activities.
