Manchester City has reached the Champions League quarterfinals with playful ease. The formation of Pep Guardiola won, just like in the first match, convincingly with 2-0 from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Although Gladbach had to make at least two goals to reach the quarterfinal, it was City that chose the attack from minute one. That strategy earned a goal for The Citizens quite early in the match. In the twelfth minute, Kevin de Bruyne got the ball just outside the sixteen in the feet played by Riyad Mahrez. De Bruyne decided to try it from a distance with his chocolate bone. This worked out very successfully: the Belgian shot the ball devastating through the bar in the goal: 1-0.

After De Bruynes beautiful hit, City thrusted on. More than five minutes later it was again hit. Phil Foden put teammate Ilkay Gündogan face to face with Gladbach goalkeeper Yannick Sommer. Gündogan then cooled the 2-0. Gladbach also came to a number of chances in the first half, but the Marco Rose team was not really dangerous.

Both teams finally went to rest at a 2-0 stand. For example, the diptych between City and Gladbach for rest was already played. In the second act, City took a lot of gas back. The English had a number of possibilities, but they were not used. Gladbach did not become really dangerous anymore, so the race lapped towards its end.
The match between City and Gladbach ended in 2-0, making the Premier League leader win over two matches with 4-0 from the Germans and is sure of the Champions League quarterfinals. Friday afternoon the draw is on the program.
