Sparta has finally won Tobias Lauritsen and Joshua Kitolano. Earlier on Thursday it was already clear that the Norwegian duo would make the switch to Het Kasteel, now the deal is official.tob
Sparta acquires Lauritsen and Kitolano from the Norwegian Odds BK. Especially bringing in the latter is a great achievement by Sparta: the Norwegian midfielder was also in the interest of other Eredivisie clubs, including Feyenoord. In addition, Odds did not intend to let striker Lauritsen go, but still tacked due to his departure wish. Sparta then managed to trump Scotland‘s Aberdeen.
Technical director Gerard Nijkamp responds to the transfers in conversation with the club channels. “These are two players that we had in our sights for some time. Joshua is a player with a lot of potential, who was on the list at many clubs for a reason. Despite his young age, he already has a lot of experience and is clearly ready for the next step. The fact that he decides that Sparta should be that step says a lot about the good feeling that we both left over to the talks. We believe Joshua will be an asset.”
The Sparta director is also positive about Lauritsen. “We were looking for a striker that fits our way of playing. Tobias is a player that we followed for a long time and convinced us of his qualities, because he can be of value to Sparta both as a playpoint, but also as a goalscorer. We knew that there were clubs in other countries eager to take over him, so we’re glad that his choice fell on Sparta.”
Velkommen, Tobias & Joshua
