Belgian Football Association allows 11,000 fans at interland

23.12 p.m.: The Belgian Football Association (KBVB) has decided to join 11,000 spectators next Thursday at the Côte dIvoire training interland in Brussels. That decision followed shortly after the board of the UEFA announced that fans of the home team will be welcome in international as well as in duels in the Champions League and Europa League, provided they have a mouthcap on and at a safe distance from each other.

UEFAs clubs may use up to 30% of the stadium capacity unless the national health authorities do not agree with the public at football matches in the stadiums, or only allow an even lower capacity utilisation rate.

At the upcoming rehearsal duel of Orange against Mexico, Wednesday at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, no spectators are welcome due to the blazing coronavirus.

Volleyballers Sliedrecht Sport withdraw

23.11 pm: The mens volleyball team of Sliedrecht Sport has withdrawn from the tournament to the Supercup. Several players from the Eredivision Club have been tested positively for the coronavirus. Due to the loss of Sliedrecht Sport, Lycurgus immediately flows to the final.

The Supercup is the official start of the new season in the top league volleyball. Normally, the battle between the cup winner and the national champion of the last season, but because the competition had to be terminated prematurely because of the coronavirus, there are no national champions.

Golf: Lluiten starts great

21.56 hours: Golfer Joost Luiten has started energetic at the Scottish Open, one of the leading tournaments in the European Tour. The Dutch pro opened at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick with a round of 63 strokes, eight under par, and shares second place. Only the Englishman Lee Westwood did even better with a round of 62 strokes (-9).

The two had a great day on Thursday at the Attersee in Austria. They came first, third and second across the finish line. After six races, Lambriex and Van Vugt take second place, with 4 points behind the Croatian couple Sime Fantela/Mihovil Fantela.

Now the real work is about to begin, Van Vugt said. Starting Friday, the matches in the Gold Fleet will be on the program.

Lambriex and Van Vugt recently met the Olympic performance requirement of sports dome NOC*NSF with fourth place during the Kielerwoche. The duo can now officially close the national selection for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 in Austria. This national selection is determined on the basis of the summed up results of the Kielerwoche 2020 and this European Championship 2020 on the Attersee. Lambriex and Van Vugt have a broad head start in this national selection.

Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz are in 13th place after six races in the 49ERFX. The two-time world champions are already sure to participate in the Olympic Games in Japan.

General: German doping doctors trial postponed due to coronavirus

18.08 hours: The trial of the German sports physician Mark Schmidt and four accomplices, has been postponed by the court in Munich. One of the persons involved in the case is infected with the coronavirus.

Schmidt confessed last Tuesday that he has doped athletes since 2012, including the cyclists Alessandro Petacchi and Georg Preidler. The German doctor is the pivotal in the doping affair, which was given the name Operation Aderlass in justice.

The case came to light during a raid during the Nordic Ski World Championships in Innsbruck early 2019, and a raid in Schmidts practice. He was arrested in his hometown of Erfurt in the same year.

The doctor is suspected of providing prohibited drugs in a total of 150 cases. According to a statement read out by his lawyer, he mainly treated winter sports enthusiasts and cyclists.

The trial will be continued on 7 October.

Football: Maguire back in English selection, Greenwood and Foden not

4:45 p.m.: Federal coach Gareth Southgate has reinstated Harry Maguire in the selection of the English national football team. The captain of Manchester United lost his place on the national team because of a fight in Greece, but was reinstated by the federal coach.

The 27-year-old defender was compromised in August when he participated in a brawl on the holiday island of Mykonos, and was sentenced to a suspended imprisonment of 21 months and 10 days. Maguire denied the accusations and appealed against the verdict.

Young internationals Phil Foden (Manchester City) and Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) are not yet welcome in the Southgate selection. At the beginning of September, the two were suspended because of the violation of the Coronare rules. During their stay in Iceland, the football players would have taken women to their hotel room for a match in the Nations League.

Football: Duel between Genoa and Torino canceled by coronas

14.40 hours: Oussama Tannane and Zakaria Labyad received a call for the Moroccan football team after a few years.
