A few weeks ago Schuurs won her eleventh double title on the WTA Tour with the Czech Kveta Peschke at her side at the Cincinnati tournament. Cycling: Dumoulin contender in time trial at World Championships

07.05: The world cycling championships will continue on Friday with the men‘s time trial. Once again, a Dutch rider is among the favorites, although this is less obvious than with the women where Anna van der Breggen won the title on Thursday. Tom Dumoulin, the world champion of 2017, can present one result: the second place in the time trial of the Tour last Saturday behind Tour winner Tadej Pogacar.

It was because of a lingering knee injury and the coronapauze Dumoulin’s first gig in a race against the clock in fifteen months. Earlier he also captured bronze (2014) and silver (2018) at a World Cup.

Dumoulin will start on Friday at 15.51 pm as the third last cyclist on the race track of Imola. There is a slightly sloping trail over 31 kilometers. After the Limburger of Jumbo-Visma, Italian Filippo Ganna and Australian defender Rohan Dennis appear on the starting stage. Ganna finished third in Yorkshire last year behind Dennis and the Belgian Remco Evenepoel. It is missing because of a fall in the Tour of Lombardy. His compatriot Wout van Aert starts and is also one of the favourites. Jos van Emden is the other Dutch participant.

Football: FIFA suspends Trinidad and Tobago National Football Association

7am: FIFA has suspended Trinidad and Tobago National Football Association (TTFA). According to the World Football Federation, the TTFA โ€œseverely violatedโ€ the regulations by a previous decision by FIFA to appoint a commission to supervise the administration of the Caribbean island state to challenge a local court.

FIFA set up the monitoring committee in March, after financial inquiries showed, among other things, that the administration of the TTFA was left to be desired and there were large debts. The League of Trinidad and Tobago fought that ata court on the island, but according to FIFA this can only be done at the court of sports bitrage CAS in Lausanne.

The World Football Federation states in a statement that the suspension of Trinidad and Tobago will only be lifted once the FIFA Commission, which now performs the tasks of the TTFA, is recognised by the League.
