The Spanish newspaper Diario SPORT has revealed the details of Antoine Griezmann‘s FC Barcelona contract. The Frenchman returned to Atlético Madrid, the club that had sold him to FC Barcelona in 2019 just before the closing of the transfer market.
Griezmann is rented out until the end of the season, including option to buy, and is formally still under contract with Barcelona. SPORT has recognized the contract signed in 2019 by the attacker turned thirty this year. Barça promised him to pay 95 million euros gross over five years: Griezmann earned seventeen million a year in his first season and that amount would be increased by one million annually, to 21 million in his fifth season.
SPORT also reports that Griezmann’s contract includes several lucrative bonuses: the newspaper promises that after the weekend they will go deeper into them. Barcelona also paid a transfer fee of 120 million euros in 2019 to take over from Atlético Madrid. After two unsuccessful seasons — despite 35 goals and seventeen assists in 102 official games — Griezmann has walked the reverse road. According to Spanish media, part of the FC Barcelona selection was not faithful about that: Griezmann would not have been well in the group.
