Jesus Christ Superstar, one of the pearls of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, returns to the Dutch theatres in April. The special concert version of this well-known musical classic, including René van Kooten, Berget Lewis, Charly Luske and Richard Groenendijk, can only be seen four times throughout the Netherlands.
Producer Shows & Events will create an English-language concert show in April with well-known Dutch soloists from all kinds of genres, in which the world famous hits like I Dont know how to love him and Superstar will be central.
Music actor René van Kooten will play the role of Jesus, soul diva Berget Lewis is Maria Magdelena, rocker Martin van der Starre and Charly Luske share the role of Judas and comedian Richard Groenendijk will be seen as King Herod.
Jesus Christ Superstar tells largely from the point of view of Judas about the last seven days in the life of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the story leads to one of the most important events in our early history; the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ Superstar can be seen four times around the Easter Days: 6 April Nieuwe Luxor Theater Rotterdam, 7 April De Kring in Roosendaal, 13 April the Spiegel in Zwolle and 14 April in the Stadsschouwburg in Nijmegen.
