Star Wars: Republic Commando looks set to release on Nintendo Switch soon

Aspyr seems to be planning to transfer to modern consoles all classic games on Star Wars — following Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy and Episode I Racer company will release Republic Commando. Nintendo servers have downloaded the tactical shooter update files, which involves not only a quick announcement, but also a release. Similarly, as the media notes, Fortnite and Paladins have already leaked for Switch.

So far Republic Commando has flowed only for Switch, but probably, as in the case of previous reissues, it will be released at least on PlayStation. The original Republic Commando came out in 2005 on Xbox and PC — the shooter gained acclaim among players and journalists, and LucasArts even worked on its sequel.

Unfortunately, the sequel was cancelled due to low sales of the original. Aspyr, according to leaks, is now also working on a reissue of Knights of the Old Republic for consoles, but also the studio together with former BioWare specialists is working on the new Knights of the Knights Old Republic.
