PEC Zwolle seems to be entering into an old acquaintance as the successor of the Saturday dismissed trainer John Stegeman. According to DeccEit, Art Langeler should become the new final manager at De Blauwvingers.
Stegeman was put on idle Saturday night, after a 3-2 defeat at FC Emmen. The club plays on Friday against sc Heerenveen and hopes to find a successor for that time. PEC seems to be back in line with Langeler, who guided the club to Eredivisie promotion in 2012. “According to our sources, Art Langeler is at pole position to become head coach,” says Studio Football presenter Sjoerd van Ramshorst, closing the Sunday evening broadcast. The fifty year old Achterhoeker is still employed by the KNVB, as Director of Football Development.
Earlier on Sunday it became clear that Gertjan Verbeek will not be Stegeman‘s successor. PEC screened with several candidates, of which former Jong Orange coach Langeler has the best papers. PEC currently stands with 23 points in place thirteen, in the no-man’s-land of the Eredivisie: the distance on the left row is eight points, the margin on the degradation line is ten points.
