Ronald Koeman has announced his first match selection as FC Barcelona coach. The Spanish superpower will play a practice match against Nástic de Tarragona on Saturday evening, but Koeman does not need Luis Suárez.
Koeman said earlier that he saw no future for Suárez near Barcelona. The Uruguayan striker has been allowed to leave and is reportedly close to a deal with the Italian superpower Juventus. In addition, he did not seem to have returned fully fit from his holiday during the first training session. Suárez has to take an Italian language test before he can make the switch to Juventus. He will then be eligible for an Italian passport, which will allow him to be registered as an EU player.
However, Lionel Messi and Frenkie de Jong are in the competition selection of Barcelona. For a long time Messi seemed to be heading for a departure from Camp Nou, but the Argentine superstar is still going to serve his contract with the club. After next season he will probably walk out of the door transfer free. It goes without saying that De Jong will also be in the selection for the practice game.
Koeman has also made room for the talents Pedri and Ilaix Moriba
