Suárez takes ultimate rematch: Atlético defeats Barça in Spanish top perch

FC Barcelona has received a new touch three days after the punishment against Benfica. The Catalans went down 2-0 in the top of Spain against Atlético Madrid. Luis Suárez scored and took his ultimate rematch.
Barça had to do without the suspended Ronald Koeman, who was told earlier in the day that he can stay on anyway. The Dutch trainer cleared basic places for Sergiño Dest, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay, but Luuk de Jong took a seat on the bench. From the stand, Koeman saw that his battle plan could soon be overboard. After a nice attack, Thomas Lemar struck at Suárez‘s report.

The Catalan defence did not look foolproof in the Wanda Metropolitano. This proved again shortly before a break, when Suárez showed up only for goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Segen at Lemar‘s report. That little chance was spent on the Uruguayan. In the run-up to the clash, he reiterated that his forced departure from Barça is still bothering him. Nevertheless, he cheered subdued.
The pain in Barcelona won’
t be less of a deal. The visitors were still looking for a hookup target, but the defense of Atlético was hardly embarrassed. Barça gets stuck in eighth place with twelve points. The Madrilens climb to spot two with seventeen points.

🔫 After his 1-0 assist, he can now shoot the second one against the ropes himself. Atlético is going into peace with a comfortable lead 😏 Is Barcelona getting over this blow? 😅 #ZiggoSport #LaLiga #AtletiBarça pic.twitter.com/aKdnx10aTr
