Sumo Group, the parent company of Sumo Digital, Atomhawk, Pipeworks Studios and Secret Mode, announced the addition. The company, which is wholly owned by media giant Tencent, bought independent studio Auroch Digital. British studio Auroch Digital was founded in 2010, currently employs 48 people.
The studio is known for a range of original projects, including the space urban strategy Mars Horizon. In the Auroch Digital portfolio are Endgame games: Syria, Ogre, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics, Dark Future: Blood Red States and others.
As part of Sumo Group, the studio will act as an additional development team to support the newly created Secret Mode. Auroch will retain both its name and guide.
The amount of the deal has not been disclosed, but Sumo calls this acquisition “relatively small,” though strategically important.
