The Swedish police suspect a terrorist motive in the man who stabbed eight people with a sharp object in the southern Swedish town of Vetlanda on Wednesday afternoon. He could be arrested after being shot in the leg by cops.
The unsub, in his 20s, was hospitalized. The victims also had to be treated. Two were seriously injured.
Sweden has been the target of an attack at least twice since 2010. In December 2010, a man committed a suicide bombing in central Stockholm. He died, passers-by were slightly injured. In 2017, a radicalized Muslim drove over pedestrians in Stockholm with a stolen truck, killing five people. The rejected asylum seeker from Uzbekistan was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018.
