Nicolás Tagliafico has been a crowd favorite at Ajax since the beginning of 2018, but seems to be on the verge of a transfer. The Argentine back saw a switch to FC Barcelona in January ricochet and spoke with then director of football affairs Marc Overmars that he would be allowed to leave for a reasonable price.
Tagliafico once came over four million from Argentina and confirms to De Cceit that this issue has been discussed by the club leadership. “I keep the exact agreement out of respect for the club between us,” said the left-back, who lost its base spot this season and was nevertheless not allowed to leave for Barcelona. “I left behind the anger about this when closing the transfer market. That was then. Ive focused on winning prizes. Unfortunately, that didnt work out in the cup final, but the title makes me proud.”
After the last league match against Vitesse, Tagliafico already stated that he would like to leave for a top league to step out of his “comfort zone”. However, there is no concrete movement for the time being. “I dont know how the market is developing, so Ill see it. Im calm.”
