Erik ten Hag did not need Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Manchester City. The Manchester United manager did not want to bring him in “out of respect” while his team was 4-0 behind.
It is now clear that Ronaldo no longer plays a major role in Ten Hag‘s team, but the Tukker did not bring him in either when his team got to see all corners of the field against Manchester City. “I didn’t bring him out of respect for his great career. And because of the benefit I was able to bring with Anthony Martial. He needs minutes, although I don‘t want to call it that either,” Ten Hag explained.
Ten Hag will be talking to the group of players in the short term. “I am amazed that there was no faith. I saw a different team and spirit, we weren’t convincing. I need to talk to the players to find out why.”
I get his point to be honest. Bringing him on at 4-0 and 6-1 would have been an insult. ETH may not have delivered the line correctly and probably would have been best not saying it. (although I like his honesty) https://t.co/06sP310tWF
