Ten Hag updates on Antony’s injury: ‘Wasn’t an acute moment either’

Erik ten Hag has provided an update on Antonys injury status. The Brazilian forward was out of play on Sunday afternoon when Ajax won 0-1 at Het Kasteel, but fans of the reigning national champion dont have to worry.
At the press conference, recorded by Voetbal International, the trainer of the Amsterdammers received questions about Antonys absence. โ€œIts not a very serious injury,โ€ Ten Hag shares with the present journal. โ€œIt wasnt an acute moment either, but more overload. We are also careful considering the program he has already had and what is to come.โ€
The matches are rapidly following each other for Ajax, which will play six games in December. Because of the presence of David Neres, who replaces his compatriot on the right winger, Ten Hag is not concerned about this. โ€œWe have a good replacement and so we can also be careful about Antony. Neres is working hard, but the return is still lacking.โ€
There is hope that Antony will be able to compete again in the home game against William II on Thursday evening. The Champions League match against Sporting Portugal a few days later would be an opportunity to give Neres the chance.
