Tencent became the main investor of the creators of Rime

Tencent became the majority shareholder of Tequila Works in Madrid. It has not been announced what percentage of the shares now belongs to the Chinese concern, and how much money the company decided to invest in the creators of Rime and Gylt. Tequila Works is currently working on the Song spin-off of Nunu: A League of Legends Story in partnership with Riot Games.

And after the release of the project, the developers plan to use the funding received to create their own original game. The purchase of Tequila Works shares is the latest in a series of investments by the group Tencent.

Recently, the company bought the creators of Improbable, Inflexion studio, and Polish 1C Entertainment. It also owns Riot Games, Sumo Group, Turtle Rock Studios, Sharkmob, Funcom, Wake Up Interactive and other studios.
